Justice Venkatachalaiah to deliver convocation address in Kolar

Justice M.N. Venkatachalaiah, retired Chief Justice of India and chancellor of Puttaparthi based Sri Satya Sai University, will deliver the fifth annual convocation address at the Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research, a deemed to be university (comprising Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College) at Tamaka here on March 27.

Gold medals will be presented to seven toppers in various subjects of Post-graduate degree and also the topper in the MBBS programme, Vice-Chancellor P.F. Kotur told reporters on Wednesday.

Honour for Chennai doctor

Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) will be conferred upon Chennai-based diabetologist V. Mohan at the function, he said.

Dr. Mohan is the Chairman and Chief Diabetologist, Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, Chennai.

First ever PhD degree of the university will be presented to P.N. Sridhar Rao. R.L. Jalappa, founder chairman of the institution will preside over the function.
