Girl allegedly raped, accused on the run

A physically challenged minor was allegedly raped at Katai village under the Jiyanpur police station area of Azamgarh district. A case was registered on Tuesday and the girl was sent for medical examination. The accused is on the run.

VARANASI: A physically challenged minor was allegedly raped at Katai village under the Jiyanpur police station area of Azamgarh district. A case was registered on Tuesday and the girl was sent for medical examination. The accused is on the run.
According to reports, the girl was allegedly raped by her uncle living in neigbourhood when she was alone in the house on March 15. He threatened her against disclosing the incident to anyone.
Later, she narrated the story to her parents. The matter was reported to police. According to circle officer Avinash Chandra Pandey a search operation was underway for the accused.
Youth found dead: A youth identified as Azad was found dead in a pond at Lalganj village in Deogaon police station area of Azamgarh on Tuesday. Azad was a resident of Bakhra village and had been missing for the last three days. He was suffering from epilepsy.
Three killed in mishap: Three youths were killed after falling from their motorcycle near Gola village under the Cholapur police station on Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, Surendra Singh (20), Mangal Patel (20) and Faiz Khan (21) hailing from area under the Sarnath police station were headed to an examination centre on a motorcycle where Surendra had to write his intermediate board exam. The other two were students of BA-II. They took a turn on Tevar Road to reach Varanasi-Azamgarh and saw a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. The one driving the motorcycle immediately hit the brake. Though the motorcycle stopped, the trio fell on road due to the impact and suffered serious head injuries. While two of them died on the spot, Surendra was declared brought dead on reaching hospital.
