A Chinese tourist who is also a physician in the Emergency Department of Chaoyang Hospital in Beijing rescued an American woman who collapsed because of a sudden cardiac arrest at Sea World Adventure Park in San Diego, California, United States, according to a thread posted on March 21 on Sina Weibo, China's equivalent to Twitter.

Tang Ziren, the rescuer, immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the woman, continuing chest compressions on the woman for about 10 minutes and successfully reviving the patient after a rescue team arrived.

To compensate Tang for the performance that he missed during the rescue, staff members from the park staged a whale show just for him.
