Marking the onset of spring, Jaipur celebrated the festival of Gangaur recently. The Gangaur procession, in all its grandeur, had folk dancers, decked up camels, horses and bands, and was led by elephants carrying the royal insignia.

The route of the procession had to be changed this year due to Metro construction, so it started from the Tripolia Gate, through Chaura Rasta, Nehru Bazaar, Kishanpole Bazaar, Gangauri Bazaar, and culminated at the Talkatora.
The beautifully-decorated idol of Goddess Gangaur was also one of the highlights, attracting the attention of Jaipurites as well as tourists.
