15-yr-old Palitana student molested during SSC exams

RAJKOT: A class X girl was allegedly molested by a teacher while she was taking her board exams in Palitana taluka.
Fed up of his advances, the 15-year-old girl lodged a complaint against the teacher, Rajkumarsinh Gohil, of Jivan Jyot Vidya Mandir in Thadach village. Gohil allegedly molested when she was writing her exams from March 18 to 23.
The girl told police that Gohil used to come and sit uncomfortably close to her on the bench while she was writing.He also wrote his mobile number on the girl’s answer sheet. The girl further alleged that Gohil touched her feet repeatedly and abused her.
“Gohil surrendered on Monday at around 11 pm. We have arrested him and booked him under section 354 D(1) (a man follows a woman and contacts, or attempts to contact such woman to foster personal interaction repeatedly despite a clear indication of disinterest by such woman) of the Indian Penal Code and a section of 42 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, 2012,” B K Khachar, investigating officer, Palitana rural police, told TOI.
