Two Iranian naval ships call at Kochi port

Two naval ships from the Islamic Republic of Iran, IRIS Naghdi and Bandarn Abbas, docked at the port here on Tuesday for a four-day visit. While IRIS Naghdi, a Bayandor class patrol frigate, is commanded by Lt. Commander Mehrab Tamaddon, fleet supply ship Bandarn Abbas is commanded by Lt. Commander Mohsen Razzaghi Delarestaghi.

Captain M.R. Ahmadi Kermanshahi, Flag Officer of the 33 IRI Naval Group, the senior-most officer on board the flotilla, accompanied by the commanding officers of the vessels, called on Vice-Admiral SPS Cheema, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command here on Tuesday.

Interactions between the Indian and Iranian navy personnel have been planned at various training schools of at the naval base here. There will be ship visit exchanges by men from both navies.
