A leopard was found trapped in a cage kept by the Forest Department at K. Hosahalli in Kunigal taluk of the district on Tuesday.
Assistant Conservator of Forests D. Devaraj told The Hindu that the village residents had complained about leopards eating their goats and sheep. Hence, the cage was placed on Monday, he said. Five goats were attacked by leopards in last 10 days.
The two-year-old male leopard will be released into the forest, he said.
