In a curious incident, Lakketi Pochanna, aged 55, belonging to Laxmipur of Jainad mandal committed suicide on Tuesday in front of the house of a moneylender Chimolla Srinivas of Shantnagar in Adilabad town, after the latter refused to accept part repayment of the loan he had given to the former. Pochanna had taken a loan of Rs. 1.5 lakh from the money lender four years back and the amount had swelled to Rs. 6.5 lakh owing to high percentage of interest. The farmer consumed pesticide after his plea to accept Rs. 4.5 lakh as final payment was rejected twice. Police has booked a case against Srinivas.
