Brookline police investigate hidden camera in Zaftigs restroom

Police are investigating a hidden camera placed in a restroom at a Brookline restaurant.

A tip passed along by a television station to police on Monday afternoon indicated that a camera had been concealed in a restroom in Zaftigs delicatessen on Harvard Street, near Coolidge Corner, Brookline police said in a Facebook post on Tuesday. Police discovered no camera, however, at the restaurant on Monday, said police Lieutenant Philip Harrington.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the camera was found by the restaurant and removed a few months ago, but the incident was never reported to officials, he said.

Harrington said the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made and no further information was immediately available, he said.
