A Pelham, N.H., native and graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology died last week from injuries suffered in a snowboarding accident at Bretton Woods Ski Resort, one of four deaths reported on New England slopes in recent months.

According to Dracut Funeral Home, Sean Paradis, 23, died March 17 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. He was hospitalized five days earlier, after a snowboard-related accident during an outing with co-workers.

He was buried Monday, according to the funeral home.

An avid sportsman who played lacrosse, Paradis had “a warm and compassionate soul” and brought an energy into every room that he entered, according to his obituary.

Paradis was also a project manager at Wise Construction in Winchester, a job he secured after receiving his master’s degree in architecture at Wentworth last year.

John Wise, who owns the construction company, described Paradis as a responsible employee who was an integral part of a the firm.

“It’s pretty clear that he was raised by an incredible family. They shaped him into an outstanding young man,” he said.

Paradis’s death came just days before a 23-year-old New Hampshire man was killed in a skiing accident in Vermont.

Terrence Scott of Nashua died Saturday at Killington Resort. Scott lost control and crashed into multiple trees, causing his helmet to come off. Scott was described by family members as an expert skier.

On March 9, Samuel Moore, 34, died after he lost control skiing near the bottom of a novice trail on Wildcat Mountain.

In January, 13-year-old Rajiv Paluri of Westford died in an accident at Nashoba Valley Ski Area, marking the ski resort’s first fatality on the slopes.

The teen was pronounced dead at Lowell General Hospital shortly after hitting a tree.
