Wales fans were not too happy with our mock-up Six Nations front page

It seems as though some Welsh fans have lost their sense of humour as well as the Six Nations title.

Yesterday we drew up a mock front page with the headline: Oh flora of Scotland, complete with a tub of the fine margerine and a couple of tri colours on top.

Those of you who were following the Six Nations with interest will no doubt have read Neil Francis in the Irish Independent during the tournament.

Top pundit Francis ruffled a few feathers before the Welsh game when he reiterated what he thought about Warren Gatland.

"The threat I see is Wales. Is Wazza a smart coach? Personally I think he has the intellectual properties of a tub of flora," wrote Francis on the eve of the Six Nations' opening game.

Francis brought up the line again in the week leading up to the Welsh match and the Western Mail were only too happy to produce a quite superb front page following Wales' win in Cardiff.

But we have the last laugh after an incredible day of rugby on Saturday that saw Ireland crowned Six Nations champions yet again.

The Western Mail themselves could see the funny side.

Here is our mock-up front page:
