The opening round of the ultimate craft beer bracket had a heady finish, but bitters aside, the Sweet Sixteen has a host of intriguing match ups on tap.

The West Region was loaded with talent from the beginning, so it comes as no surprise that there were a few upsets. No. 7 Ballast Point came in with a chip on their shoulder and proved that they will be a contender in this tournament after dominating No. 2 Deschutes. Traditional powerhouse Sierra Nevada unseated No. 3 Russian River making a tantalizing 6 vs. 7 matchup, while on the other side of the region No. 1 Lagunitas and No. 5 Stone are set for a full-bodied showdown.

In the East Region, Victory was able to hop back after a furious start from Flying Dog to punch its ticket to a tough matchup against No. 3 Ommegang. Meanwhile, overall No. 1 Dogfish Head will look to move past No. 5 Southern Tier.

The highlight of the Midwest Region is a showdown between Founders and Great Lakes, while the upset could be on for No. 5 SweetWater when they take on No. 1 Cigar City.
