Russia's UTair named official carrier for Biathlon World Cup final events
Russia's UTair Aviation was the official carrier for the final stage of the Biathlon World Cup held in Khanty-Mansiysk in mid-March, according to Shipping Gazette.
Immediately after the World Championships, in Kontiolahti in Finland, UTair charter flights delivered participants to the final stage of the World Cup in the capital of Yugra.
UTair transported more than 400 athletes and coaches of national teams from 44 countries from Joensuu, Finland to Khanty-Mansiysk aboard Boeing 737-800 aircraft and flew them on to Joensuu and Munich after the event.
UTair Aviation has many years of successful cooperation with sports organisations, including the International Biathlon Union (IBU) and the Russian Biathlon Union.
The group includes UTair-Express, UTair CJSC, Turuhan Airlines, UTair-Helicopter services, Turuhan, Vostok Airlines, Katekavia, Helisur, UTair Europe, UTair South Africa, UTair India, TS-Technik, UTair-Engineering, Ural Aviation Services, UTG and other enterprises. In 2014 UTair Group aircraft transported 11,204,598 passengers to more than 110 destinations, including 50 unique ones.
