Jeremy Noseda has no surface concerns over Sloane Avenue

Jeremy Noseda feels Sloane Avenue should have no problems with the dirt surface in Saturday's Godolphin Mile at Meydan.

The four-year-old has won three of his five lifetime starts, including a Listed race at Kempton last November when he beat Alain de Royer-Dupre's Cladocera, who is a dual winner at the Carnival this year.

Noseda could have stayed at home and waited for the All-Weather Championships Finals Day on Good Friday, but the huge prize money on offer in Dubai has tempted him overseas.

"My own belief is the dirt should suit him really well," Noseda told At The Races.

"He's by Candy Ride out of an AP Indy mare, who is a sister to a Breeders' Cup Classic winner in Blame. He should handle it really well and I don't really have any fear.

"If we went to Lingfield we'd have been a strong favourite, but there's a lot of difference between a #100,000 race and a US$2million race and I do think he will go on the dirt. The worry about Dubai is the size of the field (16) and the draw (15), I find that more worrying than the opposition."

Another British challenger in the race is Brendan Powell's Dark Emerald but the red-hot favourite is the Paul Hanagan-ridden Tamarkuz, who has drawn the plum gate in stall one.

"He has been a revelation," said Hanagan. "Hopefully he is over the stalls issues which had affected him and he has won well on his last three starts. The 1600 metres on dirt really suits him and we have a nice low draw."
