Man held for killing infant son

Police have arrested a 35-year-old man identified as Pawan Chaudhary of Ramkuwa village in Vyara Taluka of Tapi district for killing his two and a half month old son.

SURAT: Police have arrested a 35-year-old man identified as Pawan Chaudhary of Ramkuwa village in Vyara Taluka of Tapi district for killing his two and a half month old son.
Vyara police officials said that Pawan, who is a tractor driver in Sachin GIDC, had got into a verbal fight with his wife Neeta on Sunday afternoon over a petty issue following which he beat up his wife.

When he came home late at night, his wife was feeding their child named Babloo. In a fit of anger, he thrashed his wife and went on to pick up a bamboo stick to hit her. While he was hitting his wife with the stick, the baby also sustained serious injuries.
Babloo was rushed to Bardoli General Hospital where he succumbed to injuries on Monday.
Inspector S L Bhatt of Vyara police station said, "Pawan tried to flee but we reached on time and nabbed him."
