3rd cheating plaint against panjrapol manager

VADODARA: A complaint of cheating was registered against former panjrapol manager, Piyush Vasani at the Kishanwadi police station on Monday. This is the third complaint of cheating against Vasani in less than a week's time.
Mehul Shah, a resident of Harni Road, filed the complaint against Vasani accusing him of misappropriating funds. Shah told the police that in 2011, he and Vasani agreed to buy a land in Pipariya village of Wagodia taluka.
According to Shah, he and Vasani agreed to pay Rs 80 lakh in partnership.
However, Vasani took Shah's share of Rs 40 lakh and did not pay it to the land owner. The incident came to light when Shah asked land owner about the transaction. Vasani, after being confronted by Shah, paid Rs 20 lakh in cash and issued cheque for the remaining amount.
"The cheque of Rs 20 lakh bounced due to insufficient funds in Vasani's account. Vasani kept convincing Shah to invest the pending dues in other ventures but Shah refused. We have also booked Vasani's aide Raju Shah," said Kishanwadi police inspector D S Waghela.
Kishanwadi police registered case against Vasani and Raju under sections 406, 420 and 144 of the Indian Penal Code.
Last Wednesday, Vasani was arrested by detection of crime branch (DCB) from Jamnagar following a complaint of misappropriation of Rs 2.19 crore by the panjrapol management. tnn
While in jail, Bharti Parmar, a resident of Bakrawadi also filed a complaint of cheating against Vasani at the Kishanwadi police station. Parmar alleged that Vasani took Rs 20 lakh from her and her husband between 2011 and 2013.
