Rowdy murders constable for having affair with his wife

A 31-year-old constable attached to the Indian reserve battalion (IRbn) force in Puducherry, who had an affair with a history-sheeter’s wife, was murdered by the criminal and his associates.

PUDUCHERRY: A 31-year-old constable attached to the Indian reserve battalion (IRbn) force in Puducherry, who had an affair with a history-sheeter’s wife, was murdered by the criminal and his associates. He and his gang of six members surrendered before a court in Chennai on Tuesday.
A Raghupathy, who joined the force seven years ago, was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the road under Thirunavalur police station limits near Ulundurpet in Villupuram district on March 20.
Initial investigations revealed that the constable developed an affair with K Nithiyanandam’s wife when he was posted at Puducherry central prison at Kalapet.
Police said N Suguna, 26, used to visit her husband, Nithiyanandam, 34, who was lodged in a prison at Kalapet. Raghupathy used to help Suguna in completing the procedural formalities to meet her husband. In course of time the two developed an affair. When Nithiyanandam came to know about the affair, he warned her to end the relationship. He also plotted to murder the constable. He came out on bail recently and forced his wife to call Raghupathy asking him to come to her mother’s house in Muthirapalayam. When the constable reached the house a gang led by Nithiyanandam abducted him in a car.
After reaching the national highway near Ulundurpet, the gang hit the constable on his head with iron rods. The constable sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot. The gang left the body near the road median and escaped. They also dumped the constable’s bike in an effort make it seem like an accident. On learning that police have hld his wife for questioning, Nithayanadam and his gang surrendered before a court in Chennai on Tuesday. Besides Nithyanandham, K Vigneshwaran, 25, P Jayakumar, 25, A Shaktivel, 27, S Ealumalai, 26, A Anbarasan, 22, and P Paneerselvam, 25, all hailing from Pudhucherry, surrendered before the Metropolitan court at George Town.
This not the first time Puducherry policemen were in the news for wrong reasons. S Sridhar, 29, a police constable attached to IRbn from Puducherry and his friend N Veerappan, 30, a teacher working in a private school in Chennai were arrested on charges of attacking a youth, kidnapping his girlfriend and molesting her in January this year.
