Deeksha Seth: I know the best kept secrets of Jaipur's markets

Actress Deeksha Seth, an alumnus of Ajmer's Mayo College Girls' School, was recently on a weeklong trip to Rajasthan. Accompanied by her parents, she explored Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaipur and Ajmer, which is one of her favourite places on earth. “I have spent four beautiful years of my life in Ajmer while I was studying at Mayo College. That city shaped my life and gave me the best of friends and memories. Every year I come and visit my school and also pay a visit to the dargah," she said.

Despite living in Ajmer for four years, the actress, who made her Bollywood debut with Lekar Hum Deewana Dil last year, never got a chance to visit other cities of Rajasthan.“When Papa was posted here, we never got an opportunity to go for a family trip. It's really strange but this is my maiden trip to these beautiful cities. I loved walking along the Fatehsagar Lake in Udaipur and exploring the forts and palaces in Jodhpur. I felt like I was travelling back in time," she said. When Deeksha had to leave her trip midway and go back to Mumbai for work, the fact that she hadn't visited the dargah kept bothering her. So after two days, she came back and went there with her parents.
Apart from sampling the delicacies of various cities, Deeksha also shopped to her heart's content in Jaipur. “Jaipur is paradise when it comes to shopping. And I know the best kept secrets of shopping in the old markets of Pink City , since I have shopped here so many times. I know how to deal with the shopkeepers. My mother is also an expert in the art of bargaining, so we got good deals in whatever we bought," she told us.
An adventure freak, Deeksha loves riverrafting, trekking and mountaineering, and has also represented Rajasthan in various swimming competitions at national level.She now wants to try her hand in action films. “I want to do a film that can give me a chance to do action scenes,“ she said and added that she was a little disappointed with the box office results of her debut, but is currently working on some projects.“Though I have already done a few films down south, Lekar... was my Hindi debut and I had high expectations. After that, I became choosy . There is no point signing films just like that. I go by my instinct as there is no perfect recipe for a hit film," she said.
