Duo nabbed for killing peacocks near Godhra

The Panchmahal district forest department and police nabbed two persons for killing peacocks in the district. The duo was nabbed after the departments received a tip-off in this regard.

VADODARA: The Panchmahal district forest department and police nabbed two persons for killing peacocks in the district. The duo was nabbed after the departments received a tip-off in this regard.
Sikandar Dant and his aide Ishwar Nayak, both residents of the Khajuri Sampa village of Godhra taluka were nabbed after they had killed three peacocks near the village and took them to Dant's house. They had skilled the peacocks to remove their flesh when the raid was conducted.

Remains of other peacocks were also found at the house and were seized by the Godhra taluka police. Sources said that while Dant used to gun down the peacocks, Nayak used to help him by spotting them and accompanying him with a flashlight.
The police are trying to identify the reason for the duo killing the peacocks. Sources said that the police is finding it difficult to believe that the bird was being killed merely to eat it.
