Banco Santander SA, M&T Bank Corp. and a U.S. unit of HSBC Holdings Plc were sued by a maker of integrated circuits that accused the finance companies of offering applications that infringe patents related to mobile banking.

Maxim Integrated Products Inc. of San Jose, California, alleged its patents 5,940,510, 6,105,013 and 6,237,095 were infringed. The patents were issued, respectively, in August 1999, August 2000 and May 2001.
