The Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple at Ambika Bagh near Jagadamba junction, which is adopted by the Sri Kanakamahalakshmi temple and being raised with funds from the Government and donations from devotees, was promised Rs. 5 lakh towards erecting the Dhwaja Stambham.
Senior advocate Kurma Appala Raju and his wife agreed to bear the entire cost of Rs. 5 lakh towards erecting the Dhwaja Stambham and on Monday handed over a cheque for Rs. 50,000 towards first instalment, to Deputy Commissioner and Executive Officer of the Sri Kanakamahalakshmi temple S.J. Madhavi.
Rama Navami
Meanwhile, arrangements were being made for the Sri Rama Navami festival at the Ambika Bagh temple.
Ankurarpana would be done on March 26 followed by Dhwajarohanam on March 27.
On the Sri Ramanavami festival day on March 28, Abhishekam would be performed from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. and Sri Sitarama Kalyanam celebrated from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., followed by Sri Rama Pattabhishekam.
Gramaostavam, Vasantostavam and Sri Pushpostavam would be celebrated on March 29,30 and 31.
Fee for participating in the Sri Sitarama Kalyanostavam and Abhishekam on March 28 is Rs. 1,116 and Rs. 516 respectively.
Annadanam scheme
Annadanam scheme at the Sri Kanakamahalakshmi temple received a donation of Rs. 1,00,116 from senior citizens Patchipulusu Venkata Subba Rao and his wife Ratna.
