NEW DELHI: The SIT constituted in the Sunanda Pushkar murder case is going through more than 500 pages of forensic analysis reports of her and husband Shashi Tharoor’s laptops and mobile phones.
The Directorate of Forensic Science (DFS) based in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, had submitted these reports to SIT last week. The focus of the police is to ascertain if any data was deleted from the gadgets before and after Sunanda’s death.

Delhi Police had sent two laptops and five mobiles phones for analysis and retrieving data. The SIT has again written to Twitter, Facebook and Blackberry to share data related to her social media accounts and the people with whom she was in touch with.
“We had sent equipment for retrieval of data to the forensic science lab. They performed the task and sent a detailed report to us, which is being examined. If something of interest comes up or we need to clarify it from anybody, we will do that,” Delhi Police commissioner BS Bassi said.
“We had received these equipment and reports a week ago. As the volume of data is huge, it will take time to analyse it,” he added.
Delhi Police is also waiting for FBI to send their report on the kind of poison which caused Sunanda’s death. Investigators had sent viscera samples to the US after AIIMS doctors had said that Indian labs lacked the facility to identify the poison which caused her death.
