PURNIA: Girding up his loins for the assembly polls, junior union HRD minister and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) chief Upendra Kushwaha criticized CM Nitish Kumar for his barbs at the NDA-government’s Land Acquisition Bill which never ignored the wide and genuine concerns of the farmers.
Addressing a press meet at Purnia on Monday, Kushwaha said, “The Bihar CM, who was hammer and tongs against the NDA government on the question of the status of the farmers, should rather introspect and see how more than 80% of the state’s farmers were in dire straight and passing through difficult times.”
“The Bihar CM might talk of a slew of road maps and schemes for the betterment of the farm sector across the state, but the ground reality only exposed the stark fault lines in the implementation of the schemes,” Kushwaha said, adding, “His rhetoric and empty promises could no longer deceive the state’s farmers.”Kushwaha, who visited Purnia with a view to mobilizing support for the Kisan Nawjawan Rally at Patna on April 5, earlier interacted with the party workers and office-bearers, and asked them to make all possible efforts to make the rally a huge success.
