Japanese group teaches endoscopy in Mekong region

HANOI -- A consortium led by Nagoya University and Fujifilm Holdings has begun cultivating medical personnel who can use endoscopes in the Mekong region, including Vietnam and Myanmar.

     The aim is to train at least 100 doctors and nurses yearly in Hanoi, Hue in central Vietnam and Myanmar's largest city, Yangon. The consortium from industry and academia hopes to popularize endoscopy and increase sales of Japanese medical equipment.
