City girl selected for international Rocball match

Sakshi credits her selection to her uncle. “Self-discipline and love for sports has been engraved in me by my uncle.”

Sakshi Yerunkar, (14), has been selected for the international Rocball tournament to be held in Switzerland in June. Rocball is a variant of volleyball.

A student of Chincholi village in Raigad dictrict, Sakshi had been playing Rocball from the time she was 10 years old. Being good at the game, it did not take Sakshi long to reach the state-level competition held in 2014-15 in Mumbai.

Her trainer and coach, Constable Subhash Pawar, has been distributing laddoos to people walking into Malad police station, to celebrate the achievement of his niece.
