PGA scolds caddie for his wrinkly, salmon-colored shorts

If you thought the NFL was ridiculous in playing uniform police, wait until you get a load of the PGA. According to Duane Bock, the caddie for 112th-ranked Kevin Kisner, the golf association expressed dissatisfaction with the shorts he wore during Saturday’s third round at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Other than them being wrinkled, clearly out of season (salmon colored shorts are more of a deep springtime/early summer thing) and have been worn for 14 straight tournaments (get some new shorts, bro!) there doesn’t seem to be anything amiss with the shorts. It’s not like he’s wearing cargo pockets or has shorts that go down to his ankles a la the Fab Five or is sporting shorts that barely cover any leg a la basketball players 20 years before the Fab Five. They’re just a preppy color. Isn’t that what the PGA is going for anyway?

The final salvo about wearing a MasterCard logo is part of an ongoing lawsuit between caddies and the PGA in which the caddies say they shouldn’t have to be human billboards without compensation. (The multi-million dollar lawsuit is far more complicated than just that. You can read about it here.)

The irony of it all is that Kisner wore a shirt of almost the exact same color in Thursday’s opening round.
