Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government on Monday directed Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) to immediately disburse the pending salary to its staff.

The government's move came after DTC employees association threatened to launch a series of protests against the corporation.

Salaries of DTC employees were reportedly pending since February this year.

"Transport minister Gopal Rai today directed the authorities to immediately disburse the pending salary to DTC's employees," said a senior government official.

It was not just the drivers and other employees who have not been paid. Even senior corporation's officials were awaiting their salaries.

DTC employees were planning to go on a protest if the matter was not resolved by Monday.
