NAGPUR: A two-day capacity building workshop was organized for nature lovers from Jalgaon district at Aryan Foundation’s Park in Jalgaon district on March 14-15.
About 30 nature lovers were given training to help become ‘conservation practitioners’ to effectively address wildlife, forest and environment protection and conservation issues.
The workshop was organized by Satpuda Foundation in collaboration with School of Environment Jalgaon and Aryan Foundation.

All 30 participants were trained in subjects like conservation education, wildlife conservation and management, social and wildlife studies, conservation strategies, media for conservation and environmental law.
Satpuda Foundation president Kishor Rithe, Raju Nannaware member of environment ministry’s regional empowered committee and green activist Mohan Atalkar conducted training sessions. Participants also worked on some well-designed practical modules.
Satpuda Foundation is investing efforts in building conservation leaders in Asia and has been regularly arranging training and capacity building programmes. It has decided to conduct such short duration training programmes at few district places in Maharashtra.
“This was a beginning of that idea,” said Rithe. Participants expressed that they would practice the conservation lessons after going home and would also raise environment campaigns to address the lo-cal forest, wildlife and environmental issues. Nannaware appealed to the students to percolate the ideas of the camp to the ground level.
