HUSSAINIWALA (Punjab): PM Narendra Modi said on Monday that Punjab is a land that has sacrificed so many of its children for the nation be it in the freedom struggle and the army
"Bhagat Singh, this name has the strength to inspire so many people to live and die for the nation," PM Narendra Modi said at a rally in Ferozepur, Punjab.
"I have come here today to salute the great tradition of those brave freedom fighters," the PM said.

Modi also said that "in 2019, when we mark Gandhiji's 150th birth anniversary, let's fulfil the dream of a Swachh Bharat".
"It is important to save every drop of water. That is when the water problems will be solved," PM Narendra Modi added.
Earlier, PM Narendra Modi arrived in Hussainiwala in Punjab's frontier district of Ferozepur and paid homage to freedom struggle martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
Modi, who was accompanied by chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, Union ministers Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Vijay Sampla, and state BJP president Kamal Sharma, laid a wreathe at the memorial and garlanded the statues of the three martyrs.
This is Modi's first visit to Punjab after becoming the Prime Minister.
