Bobby Flay employee: I was bullied for being ‘too girlie’

A Bobby Flay employee claims she was discriminated against for being “too girlie” at one of the chef’s burger joints, Bobby’s Burger Palace, in Maryland.

Michelle Edison told Page Six she was hired as a manager at the Maryland fast-food spot in January, and went into training for the job in New Jersey.

During training, Edison claims she was harassed by her managers for carrying a Louis Vuitton bag and was told, “Do not take being female so seriously, because it was not the BBP way.”

Edison told us: “I am a manager, so my outside appearance had to look a certain way. You have to look proper. To them, I was being overly enthusiastic in being a girl.”

She said the abuse continued once she worked full-time in Maryland, claiming her boss “stated that I was too girlie, and that he was going to make an example out of me. He took a plate and threw it down . . . in front of customers and other staff on my first work day.”

She resigned on Jan. 28 and filed a complaint Feb. 23 with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
