RAJOURI, Mar 22: A youth was knocked to death by a tractor while six persons were injured as a mini-bus turned turtle in Nowshera area of district Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that one Raj Kumar, son of Kamal Kumar, resident of Chowki village was knocked down by a tractor No. JK-11/2837 near Chowki Handan at around 9 am today when he was moving along the road in Nowshera tehsil. The youth was rushed to Nowshera hospital where he was declared as dead.
The tractor driver Sushil Kumar escaped from the spot and police registered a case against him. The police was looking for the absconding driver.
At least half a dozen persons were injured when a mini bus skidded of the road and turned turtle at Safeda Morh near Garhi in Nowshera today. The mishap took place when the vehicle was on way to Jhangar from Nowshera at around 6 pm. All the victims were removed to SDH Nowshera and later discharged. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
