Property dealer gunned down in Loni

A property dealer was shot dead by armed assailants in Loni early on Sunday. The victim, 50-year-old Dharampal, used to live with his family in Baghranap Colony, where the shooting took place, said police.

GHAZIABAD: A property dealer was shot dead by armed assailants in Loni early on Sunday. The victim, 50-year-old Dharampal, used to live with his family in Baghranap Colony, where the shooting took place, said police.
According to police, the victim’s 21-year-old son, Gaurav, along with other family members rushed Dharampal to GTB Hospital in Delhi, where he was declared brought dead.
According to Gaurav’s complaint, his father had gone for a morning walk on Sunday when the he heard a gunshot. Gaurav and a neighbour rushed to the spot where they found Dharampal lying in a pool of blood. Ghaziabad police have lodged an FIR under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC.
Police officers who had gone to GTB Hospital to make enquiries about the incident said the victim had suffered a single gunshot wound which had entered his heart after through his left arm. Gaurav said his father was engaged in a small-time property business in partnership with one Vishal in Loni. “Preliminary investigations point towards old enmity as the reason behind the murder. The body has been sent for autopsy,” said Loni SHO Rajpal Singh Tomar.
