Amma scheme: petitions received

total of 206 petitions were solved instantly at the AMMA scheme camp held in Iruppaly village at Edapadi near here on Friday. A. Madesh, panchayat union chairman, presided. Of the 287 petitions received for old age pension, free house site pattas, patta transfer, birth certificates etc, needed documents were provided to 206 applicants. Action on rest of the applications will be taken after due processing, sources said.

Medical camp

Free medical camp marked the World TB Day in the Government Hospital here on Friday. Dr. Valarmathi, chief doctor of the hospital, inaugurated the camp.

Cotton auction

Cotton was auctioned for Rs. 10.5 lakh at the Kolathur Regulated Market functioning under the Salem Market Committee on Saturday. A total of 66 farmers of Kolathur and surrounding villages had brought 1,000 bags of cotton and 250 bags of groundnut for the auction. Traders from Tirupur, Magudanchavadi, Konganapuram, Gobichettipalayam participated in the auction.
