Telugu Desam seeks revival of production at SPM

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Sunday demanded revival of paper production at Sirpur Paper Mills in Kagaznagar in Adilabad district.

The party also announced an ex gratia of Rs. 50,000 for the family of Sudhakar, a labourer who died after production was suspended in the mill.

TDP Deputy Floor Leader in Telangana Assembly, A. Revanth Reddy, polit bureau member Ramesh Rathod and CPI leader Gunda Mallesh called on the family of the deceased worker in Kagaznagar.

Relay hunger strike

They later went to the relay hunger strike camp of SPM workers and addressed them.

Jobs sought

Mr. Reddy demanded that the government release Rs. 10 lakh as ex gratia and job to one person from each of the families of workers and labourers if the SPM is closed down.

He exhorted the workers to gherao MLAs in the district to put pressure on the government for the revival of the mill.
