NAGPUR: Trying to help his father give up his alcohol addiction, a 20-year-old youth finally lost his temper and ended up killing his father.
The deceased, Prosenjeet Biswas, 45, was a resident of Vekoli, Koyla Vihar Colony. Police said that Biswas, a driver, was addicted to liquor. Due to his alcoholic habit, he had been thrown out by his parents. He was staying with his wife and children.
However, fed up of his regular abusive drama under the influence of alcohol, his wife had shifted to her parents house at Chandrapur three years ago with her two sons and a daughter.
Cops said that just five months ago, Biswas's elder son Akshay started staying with his father, hoping to rid his father of his alcoholic habit and take him back to Chandrapur.
On Saturday evening, Biswas had as usual came home drunk and was abusing Akshay. The father-son duo had an argument for a long time in which Akshay lost his mind when Biswas dragged him out of the house and abused him. Unable to bear this, Akshay stabbed his father in the neck and chest repeatedly.
Minutes after, Akshay rushed Biswas to a nearby private hospital. Neighbours had informed the police. By the time police inspector Sunil Bonde and API Rajan Patil reached the hospital, Biswas had been declared dead by doctors.
On Akshay's complaint, Gittikhadan police have registered a murder case against Akshay. Police said that Biswas's wife and daughter refused to take charge of the body. The body was later handed over to Biswas’s parents for the last rites.
