Three brothers booked for fraud, criminal conspiracy

An FIR has been registered with the Sector 11 police station against Vinod Kumar, Parmod Kumar, and Ashwani Kumar.

The police have booked Kumar brothers, who run a leading chemist shops in the city, for alleged cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy in order to get a site in Sector 11 transferred to their name using a fictitious will.

An FIR has been registered with the Sector 11 police station against Vinod Kumar, Parmod Kumar, and Ashwani Kumar, all residents of Sector 2, on the complaint of Upkar Singh, Superintendent in the Estate Office.

Around two weeks ago, Estate Officer Mohammad Shayin had recommended registration of an FIR against the three brothers, based on an internal inquiry report which said that they had fraudulently tried to get an SCF site transferred to them, based on their father Rameshwar Dass’s will. This was despite the fact that the property was never allotted to Dass, nor the possession delivered to him.

The probe held that the three brothers sought transfer of the site number 25 in Sector 11 in their names based on the will in 1983, and the Estate Office, without verifying whether the site was allotted to their father or not, asked them to submit the necessary documents.

In 2013, a court also directed the Estate Office to transfer the ownership of the SCF in their names, but the Estate Office contested the order and said that the brothers could not prove ownership of the site by their father.

Festive offer

The court ruled in the Estate Office’s favour following which an internal probe indicated that the accused, in connivance with staff of the Estate Office, entered into a criminal conspiracy to gain control of the property.

The police have now booked them under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, and have started investigation in the case.
