During the five-hour meet, the khaps decided to launch a massive stir against the BJP government at the Centre.

“We have decided to stand united for this common cause. We will go to any extent for getting our legitimate right of reservation,” said H P Parihar, president of Sankyukt Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti.

Festive offer

“It will be a multi-cornered protest. Different teams are being constituted for different tasks. While one team will contest the legal battle in court, another will contest the battle in Parliament and the third one will raise Jats’ voice on the roads. As far as the legal option is concerned, we will challenge the Supreme Court decision before a division bench. If we fail to get justice there, all the Jats will hit the streets,” said Yudhvir Sehrawat, vice-president of All India Jat Mahasabha.

“After protesting at Jantar Mantar, we will reach Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi. The strength will be in lakhs. The government will be forced to give us reservation,” said Hawa Singh Sangwan, state president of Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti.

“It is the responsibility of the MPs and other politicians to ensure reservation for Jats. If they fail, we will launch such a protest that the Modi government will be burnt to death.”

Jogender Singh, another Jat leader said, “If any MP or MLA, who won elections because of our support, fails to support our cause, we will boycott them for life. A committee will be constituted and it will meet on Wednesday to formulate a roadmap for the May 11 protest.”
