‘Janata Darbar’ on green issues today

PUNE: Union environment minister Prakash Javadekar will conduct a ‘Janata Darbar’ at Van Bhavan, Senapati Bapat Road, between 3pm and 5pm on Monday. The ministry has appealed to citizens and organisations to give suggestions and objections on issues regarding environment and forest at the programme.
‘Janata darbar' is an initiative by the Union environment ministry. The open public meetings aim to provide a direct platform for citizens to interact with ministry officials as well as experts from the field.
The first such meeting was held in June 2014 at ARAI hills on Paud road where Javadekar met morning walkers. They had raised grievances about environmental issues and suggested an increase in green cover around the city.
