Mica registers 100% placement, highest pay Rs 25 lakh

Mica, the country's premier institute for strategic marketing and communication, has registered a 100% placement for the 20th batch of its flagship PGDM-Communications that will graduate on March 28.

AHMEDABAD: Mica, the country's premier institute for strategic marketing and communication, has registered a 100% placement for the 20th batch of its flagship PGDM-Communications that will graduate on March 28.
Around 85 companies scouted for talent at Mica as 157 excited students made a fervent rush for the lucrative placement season. The average salary is Rs 11.3 lakh, a substantial surge of 22% from last year’s Rs 9.3 lakh.
The highest salary offered is Rs 25 lakh, against last year’s offer of Rs 23 lakh.
The largest intake is from Digital, Media and E-Commerce industries, closely followed by Retail, Internet & Technology, IT/ITES, FMCG/FMCD, Advertising and Market Research & Analytics, among others. Interactive continued as the largest recruiter, followed by Google, Amazon, GroupM and others.
“The 2015 graduating batch of PGP students has excelled academically and professionally. This has reflected in their higher pay offers,” said Mica director Nagesh Rao.
The trend of international placements continued this year too, with three students securing jobs overseas. Pre-placement offers indicated a positive growth — 23% students were offered PPOs/PPIs even before the start of the placement season.
Summer internships at Mica also witnessed an unprecedented surge in both average stipend and number of companies, specifically in digital and e-commerce segments. The highest internship stipend increased to Rs 1.6 lakh. The overall average stipend rose by 35% over last year.
