Rajinikanth agrees to pay Lingaa distributors

Lingaa distributors have partially won their battle. Superstar Rajinikanth has agreed to pay 10 crores to the distributors who lost money in Lingaa. According to our Chennai Sources, producer Rockline Venkatesh never thought of paying the refund but Rajinikanth was hurt with the distributor's protest.
Rajinikanth's camp said, "They behaved very arrogantly and threatened to beg in front of Rajini sir's house.This entire drama is a conspiracy. Every year, more than 200 films get released in Tamil Nadu and none of these distributors have threatened to do such things against any other actor/producer. These distributors earned lot of money through Rajinikanth's movies and they never offered him a share in their profits. Rajini sir agreed to pay 10 crores only on humanitarian grounds and yes, he is very upset with this entire issue".
On the other hand, distributors said that they are disappointed as they expected a refund of 33 crores. 'Lingaa' was released on December 12, 2014 and this film crossed 100 cr mark at the box-office. Since the film was sold for high rates, distributors were not able to recover their investments.
