78-year-old Surendra Patel(former Rajya Sabha MP, former AUDA Chairman, Tresurer of Gujarat BJP) whom Gujarat BJP popularly call Surendra ‘Kaka’ tried new Zip line adventure ride across river Sabarmati on Saturday soon after its opening by city Mayor. Kaka was attending the inaugural function like any other function organized by AMC, but when asked to try the ride, he replied positively and crossed the river on both directions. The ride has been opened for public behind National Institute of Design on Sabarmati River Front (West). It is first of its kind of river crossing ride in any city of India. The total distance is 270 meter. On first day it was free but from today onwards the ticket price is Rs. 300 on weekdays and Rs. 400 on weekend. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has handed over installation and operation of this ride to private company.
