Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders from Nagari Assembly constituency on Saturday staged a novel protest in front the temple of Lord Varasiddi Vinayakaswami at Kanipakkam near here, demanding that MLA R.K. Roja stop criticising the TDP government and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
The party leaders-- Ramanujam Chalapathi and Latha-- who fetched waters from the temple tank, said that the water would be used to sprinkle on Ms. Roja to ‘cleanse her of the sin by making the floor of Assembly unholy by her swearing words against the TDP leaders.’
“We will carry the holy water from here to Nagari. The water should make her realise that it was Chandrababu Naidu who gave her political birth in the TDP, by offering her MLA ticket twice ,” they said.
The leaders further alleged that Ms. Roja was misled by YSRC president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s ‘vindictive agenda’ against the TDP government. “We are going to launch a campaign against Ms. Roja in Nagari, urging her that she should spend the valuable time of the Assembly to discuss public issues,’’ they said. After darshan of the Lord, the TDP cadres carried the vessels to Nagari.
