Gaya, Mar 21: The ex-Chief Minsiter of Bihar, Jitan Ram Manjhi, who is presently focusing on Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) mega rally scheduled on April 20, said that at least 5 lakh people would attend the rally and would make some big announcements on that day.

But to everyone's shock as per a TOI report, he also said that if turnout at the rally on April 20 is less than 5 lakh, he would seek political 'sanyas'.

Manjhi to quit politics? Bihar's ex-CM vows to seek 'political sanyas' if HAM rally flops.
In an effort to regain his lost support base in Janata Dal United (JDU), former Chief Minister of Bihar Jitan Ram Manjhi said on Thursday that he is still a JDU member. He also said that JD(U) National President Sharad Yadav was his leader.

Targeting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Manjhi said that there was no democracy in the party under Kumar.

While keeping all his options open, Manjhi also said that his Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) would join hands with any other political outfit after Bihar Assembly elections, and added he could play a role in forming the next government in Bihar.

The 70-year-old leader also blamed the BJP's reluctance to take on Nitish Kumar and RJD president Lalu Prasad for not coming to his rescue ahead of the trust vote on February 20.

Manjhi, who is presently focusing on HAM's mega rally scheduled on April 20, said that at least 5 lakh people would attend the rally and would make some big announcements on that day.

While BJP is keen to have Manjhi on its side, some factions in JD(U) camp does not want to disown Manjhi to keep Mahadalit votes intact.

Facing apparent defeat, Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi had resigned hours ahead of the trust vote. Manjhi submitted his resignation to Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi.

His sudden decision apparently was due to his realisation that he does not have the numbers to prove the majority.

Manjhi, who rebelled against Nitish Kumar, was expelled by JD(U) and was to prove his majority after the Governor's address.
