A tribute to the officer

March 21, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - Kolar:

The students of College for Sericulture, Kurubur, affiliated to the University of Agricultural Sciences-Bangalore staged a street play to pay tribute to officer D.K. Ravi.

Initiatives highlighted

The play, staged on the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, was centred around the life and work of Ravi, particularly his initiatives to curb land and sand mafia while he was Deputy Commissioner here.

Message

While fourth-year student Indushree wrote the script, first-year student Soundarya donned the role of Ravi and drew the attention of the audience. Thousands of students descended on the premises to register their anger against the death of the officer.

The play concluded with a message of defeating corruption and calling upon students to pursue civil services.
