Abad Dairy land given for sports complex

AHMEDABAD: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has given the Abad Dairy land, situated near Kankaria lake front, for the construction of a sports complex and recreation complex. The land has been given on the lease of 35 years to a Mumbai-based firm.
The state government in a reply to Mahudha MLA Natwarsinh Thakore said that a rent of Rs 4.02 lakh per annum would be paid to the AMC by the Mumbai firm.The government said that it has also been decided that the rent will be increased by 10% every three years. The firm has been informed that it cannot change the land use and will have to use the land for sports and recreation facilities only.
The AMC has asked the firm to complete the construction within 36 months of the signing of the agreement. The government in a reply to another question by Viramgam MLA Tejashreeben Patel said that if both the parties agree than the lease period can be extended.
