ACA hails Jyothi Surekha’s feat

Andhra Cricket Association general secretary Gokaraju Ganga Raju on Friday congratulated city archer Jyothi Surekha, an Asian Games bronze medallist, who won the individual women's compound gold at the Asia Cup Stage II archery tournament in Bangkok. She edged past A. Cojuangco of Philippines 142-140 to win the title.

“It is a great moment for us as Jyothi won the gold medal in the individual segment in the Asia Cup tourney. She is a talented archer and she will bring more laurels to the country,” he said in a press note.

Koneru Lakshmaiah University student Jyothi Surekha is one of the sportspersons who is benefited by the ACA’s scheme of helping talented sportspersons in sports and games other than cricket. City East MLA Gadde Ram Mohan, in a release, hailed the triumph of Jyothi Surekha and exhorted youngsters to emulate her.
