Bhadrachalam sub-division police have mooted a plan of action to bring more areas in the major pilgrim centre of Bhadrachalam under the CCTV system to beef up surveillance ahead of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s probable visit to the temple town on Ramanavami on March 28.
According to sources, the temple town police have drawn up an elaborate action plan to install another ten CCTV cameras at strategic locations in busy centres in the temple town in the next few days.
Although several CCTV cameras were installed at vantage points including the busy Ambedkar Centre in the town last year, some of them have reportedly become defunct for want of repairs.
The action plan devised by the temple town police envisages setting up of additional CCTV cameras around the temple complex housing the historical Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy shrine and main thoroughfares of the town including the route used for passage of VVIPs convoy.
The temple authorities have also mooted the installation of a couple of high resolution CCTV cameras at Midhila stadium in connection with the ensuing Ramanavami festival.
