SXSW: Big K.R.I.T. Set To Astonish 405 Club Crowd
With one prior show canceled, Mississippi’s Big K.R.I.T. is hyping the atmosphere for his performance at the SXSW/405 Club event, in Austin, Texas.

Big K.R.I.T. is known for his delivery and lyrical execution. Some call him the Future of the South, and in association to his name — King Remembered In Time — he’s poised to be remembered during this SXSW concert.
As part of the SXSW music events in Austin, Texas, K.R.I.T.’s concert is set to begin at 1:15 a.m., March 21, 2015. Though Big K.R.I.T.’s Twitter account insinuates March 20 as his performance date, often people relate late-night with the same day — regardless of it technically being a different day. However, it’s still understood.
In this SXSW event, K.R.I.T. is the last to take the stage. As the last artist, generally, the particular act has to “bring it.” Given that he follows eight performers at the event, his presence would probably need to be eight times greater — definitely something everyone should remember.
Moreover, after having released his newest album, Cadillactica, one would think that Big K.R.I.T. would give the crowd a few songs from that compilation. He just might. However, according to Vibe, there may be other plans to expect as well.

In the aforementioned article, Vibe tells how the artist gives a few lyrical flows over a “chopped & screwed” instrumental, in honor of the Texas-known music style. The song is one of Big K.R.I.T.’s new songs called “B4SXSW.” As a modification of tradition, this new track takes an old-school Texas-rap beat by the horns with his stylistic approach. And it seems that some fans are loving it.
Maybe it’s just my inner southerner speaking but that is possibly the best song I’ve heard all year @BIGKRIT #B4SXSW

If you haven’t really listened to “chopped & screwed” music, think about your favorite song being slowed down to about half its speed, its key changed to fit the speed, all while a DJ makes intricate and highly-skilled “scratches” in coordinated syncs.
It should be noted that all C&S DJs aren’t as precise as others. So likewise, not all “chopped & screwed” sounds as good as others. However, one of the more-highly-recommended ones in Texas is DJ OG Ron C, who has worked with a plethora of known celebrity artists from crossover R&B to rap and hip hop.
Nevertheless, what do you think about Big K.R.I.T.’s SXSW showcase? Will it be a smash or will it be smashed? Share your thoughts below.
