If your favorite female heroes were forced to battle head to head, who would come out the winner? Katniss or Tris? Wonder Woman or Captain Marvel? Buffy or Starbuck? Leia or Sarah Connor?

That's the question that USA TODAY's Kelly Lawler (@klawls), Brett Molina (@brettmolina23), Carly Mallenbaum (@ThatGirlCarly) and Brian Truitt (@briantruitt) debate in this week's episode of The Mothership podcast. We came up with a March Madness style bracket of 16 of our favorite heroines from comics, books, TV and movies, and debate who would win, in honor of Insurgent hitting theaters this weekend.
