NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court on Friday rejected a plea filed by
Aam Aadmi Party member Somnath Bharti seeking video recording of proceedings in
National Human Rights Commission in connection with his raid at Khirki Extension last year.
A bench of justices S Murlidhar and
Manmohan Singh said there is no merit in the petition. "Holding camera proceedings is not something alien to the judicial system and the courts have allowed the proceedings to be recorded in a number of cases in the interest of justice and fair trial in highly contentious issues," Bharti had submitted.
